Vertical industrial row type clean workbench

Configure modular clean stations for multi-station continuous operations

The row-type clean workbench is composed of multiple workstation modules, which can be arranged along the process direction to form a continuous operating area. According to the number of processes, the direction of workpiece flow, the air flow relationship between adjacent workstations, and zoning control requirements, Aili Industrial configures module sizes, splicing interfaces, filtration systems, and control functions to match the row of workstations with the production process.

Features

Multi-station module splicing structure

The row-type workbench is composed of independent workstation modules, and the modules are connected through splicing interfaces. Each module can be configured with independent air supply, filtration and control systems, or can share some air ducts and filter units.

When splicing modules, it is necessary to check the table height, joint sealing, support position and leveling method so that there are no obvious steps or gaps between adjacent workstations. Clean workbench classification and structural form can be viewed Clean Workbench Learn about different models.

Air flow boundary between adjacent workstations

Air flows between rowed workstations may affect each other. In the horizontal flow model, the airflow from the upstream station may carry particles into the downstream station; in the vertical flow model, the air supply from adjacent stations may cause interference at the junction.

At the splicing point, the wind speed, air flow direction and filter arrangement of the workstations on both sides should be checked to confirm that the air flow boundary at the junction is stable. For sampling point layout, please refer to Why can’t the sampling point be located just below the air supply outlet? , to avoid measuring only the center position of a single device.

Process handover and material flow

Tandem workstations are often used in continuous processes where workpieces need to be transferred between workstations. The handover position should be arranged according to the direction of air flow to avoid sensitive operations downstream of the pollution source.

If workpieces are transferred between workstations via conveyor belts, slideways or manually, it should be confirmed whether the junction is within the effective protection range. Material flow path can be referred to What are the prerequisites for purifying only key workstations? Learn about transfer protection essentials.

Joint sealing and table leveling

The joints between modules need to be sealed to prevent unfiltered air from entering the work area through the gaps. Table leveling can reduce workpiece sticking or tilting at joints.

The joints should be regularly inspected for sealing strips, fasteners and leveling conditions. If the module needs to be assembled on site, the connection method, sealing requirements and re-inspection conditions should be clarified in advance.

Partition operation and control

The row workstations can be configured with unified control or partitioned control according to the usage mode. When the usage time of different processes is inconsistent, partition operation can reduce energy consumption, but it is necessary to confirm whether the air flow in adjacent areas is stable when the partition is deactivated.

Zone control requires corresponding air supply structure and control logic support. For relevant extension conditions, please refer to What are the expansion conditions for using independent modules in clean systems? learn.

Working principle

After the air in each module is initially filtered, it is sent to the filtration system by the fan, and then enters the work area through the terminal high-efficiency filter. The horizontal flow model supplies air from the rear to the front, while the vertical flow model supplies air downward from the top. The airflow passes through the operating area and is discharged along the designed path.

Air enters→primary filter→fan air supply→end high-efficiency filter→single station air supply→air discharge

The airflow at adjacent workstations may affect each other at the splicing joint. The airflow performance at the junction should be checked based on the actual process and operating status.

Application scenarios

Multi-process continuous assembly

Assembly line inspection station

Optical component handling

Instrument component assembly

Workpiece process handover

Multi-station parallel operation

Clean parts handling

Clean handling of non-hazardous materials

Clean benches are mainly used for product protection and do not provide the personnel and environmental protection that biological safety cabinets have. When infectious materials, toxic volatiles, or other hazardous materials are involved, equipment should be selected based on the risk.

Selection and layout of row workstations

Determine the number and arrangement of modules according to process

First record the scope of tools, workpieces and personnel required for each process, and then determine the number and arrangement of modules. The direction of workpiece flow should be clear for continuous processes, and the independence of each workstation should be confirmed for parallel workstations.

Check airflow and sealing at splices

The airflow at workstations on both sides of the splice may affect each other, and the wind speed and airflow direction at the junction should be measured. Joints should be sealed to prevent unfiltered air from entering the work area.

Plan process handover locations

When workpieces are transferred between workstations, the handover position should be within the effective protection range. Conveyors, slides, or manual transfer actions should not block air supply to critical operating locations.

Reserve space for expansion and maintenance

If modules need to be added to the row workstation later, the expansion conditions for power distribution, control address and splicing interface should be confirmed in advance. Channels for filter replacement and fan maintenance also need to be reserved. Insufficient maintenance channels will increase subsequent expenditures. This is reflected in what later expenses will be increased due to insufficient maintenance channels . There is a more detailed analysis of

Routine maintenance

Clean the countertop, side enclosures and splicing joints according to process requirements to avoid residues affecting subsequent operations. Seams and seals should be inspected regularly.

Regularly check leveling, fasteners and splice seals. Maintain the primary filter according to the usage environment, and determine the maintenance needs of the terminal filter based on pressure difference, operating wind speed, cleanliness testing and filter status. After replacement, the installation seal and related performance should be rechecked. To judge the initial resistance and final resistance, please refer to What are the initial resistance and final resistance used to judge? , sealing inspection can refer to What should be checked when cleaning equipment is accepted?。

FAQ

What is the difference between a row-type clean workbench and a multi-person clean workbench?

The row type emphasizes that multiple workstation modules can be arranged and expanded according to the process through splicing and combination; the multi-person workstation emphasizes that multiple people share a work area. When selecting, you need to check the specific structure, control method and air flow relationship between work stations.

Will there be air leakage at the splicing joint?

The joints need to be sealed, and the sealing strips and tightening status should be checked after installation. During regular maintenance, you should also confirm that the seams are not loose or aged.

Can I purchase modules in batches?

It can be configured in batches according to the project progress, but the module size, splicing interface and control protocol should be unified in advance to avoid failure to connect modules later.

Will adjacent workstations affect each other?

Air flows from adjacent workstations may interact with each other at the joints. The airflow performance at the interface should be checked based on the actual process and operating conditions, and the filter layout or operating settings should be adjusted if necessary.

How often should the filter be replaced?

It should be combined with pressure difference, wind speed, cleanliness detection and filter status judgment. Recheck sealing and related performance after replacement.
