How are ULPA efficiency requirements written into the technical agreement?

Whether the efficiency clauses in the technical agreement are well written will directly affect the smoothness of subsequent manufacturing and acceptance.

Just writing 'super efficient' or a percentage will almost certainly cause problems. The supplier doesn't know what standard to measure according to, what object to measure, and what air volume to measure at; the acceptance party doesn't know whether the report it gets counts. It would be difficult for both parties to wait until the goods are delivered before discussing it.

The first sentence of the efficiency clause should clearly state what the evaluation object is.

Is it a sample filter material, a completed filter, or an installed system? The detection methods, judgment standards, and reporting forms of these three are different.

The data of the filter material sample reflects the material performance and is used as a reference for material selection.

The inspection of the complete finished product , covering the effects of pleating, edge sealing, outer frame and assembly, is the basis for grade determination.

System testing after installation should also include on-site sealing, box interfaces, and air volume conditions.

The factory inspection completed by the supplier and the on-site verification arranged by the user are two different things and must be written clearly separately. You can't just write 'efficiency is qualified' and mix the two levels together.

How to list test conditions

After the evaluation object is determined, the test conditions must be stated item by item.

Standard version. Refer to EN 1822 or ISO 29463, which version is specific? Different standard versions may have different details and terms, so you cannot just write the standard name.

Test air volume. What is the air volume corresponding to the efficiency data? The efficiency may be different under different air volumes, and efficiency cannot be discussed separately from the air volume.

Judgment method and particle size conditions. Is it MPPS efficiency or fixed particle size efficiency? If the particle size is fixed, which particle size is it? What is the decision limit?

Overall and partial judgment requirements. Efficiency classes usually correspond to overall efficiency, but the requirements for local leak detection are a different set. Both items must be written, and their respective judgment standards and limits must be noted. Test objects and reporting forms. Is it one report per unit, or batch summary? What information needs to be included on the report? These are stipulated in the agreement, and there will be no disputes during delivery.

How to deal with changes and non-conformities

The agreement should also include provisions for handling changes and exceptions.

Drawing version management. When dimensions or structure change, update the drawing version and reconfirm. New sizes or media cannot default to legacy reports.

Confirmation of material changes. If the filter material, rubber material or seals are changed, the impact should be evaluated according to the agreed process, and additional testing should be performed if necessary.

Unqualified handling process. When the test fails, should it be reworked, replaced, or accepted with concession? The handling method and re-inspection requirements must be clearly stated in the agreement. Negotiations cannot be made until problems occur.

The principle of meeting deadlines. Necessary inspection items that have been agreed upon will not be omitted due to tight delivery deadlines. If it is really impossible to complete, the solution should be communicated in advance, and the information cannot be delivered first and then supplemented.

Project judgment example

Both quotes are written as U15, but one includes local leak detection data, and the other only has overall efficiency data.

In this case, the delivery scope corresponding to the two quotations is not the same. If the project requires unit-by-unit traceability and on-site acceptance, a solution that only provides overall data may not meet the requirements. Before comparing prices, first complete the detection range corresponding to the efficiency clause, and then compare prices.
