The partition-less structure is becoming more and more common in ULPA products, especially in equipment and ultra-thin applications. However, the three words 'no partitions' only describe a structural form, but cannot explain the level of performance.
Its real feature is that it removes the partitions used to expand the pleat spacing in traditional partition structures and uses other methods to maintain passages. This change brings some characteristics in terms of thickness, weight and installation adaptability, and also puts forward different requirements for filter materials, glue lines and manufacturing processes. What you need to look at when selecting a model is not 'whether there are partitions', but whether the structure can be established under your installation space, air volume and leak detection conditions.
The filter material of ULPA without partitions is usually folded into dense pleats, and the openings between the pleats are maintained by glue lines, hot melt glue beads or other spacing methods. The outer frame is responsible for supporting and sealing, and the filter material and frame are connected by edge sealing glue. The overall structure is more compact than the partitioned solution and is suitable for locations with limited space. But compactness also means that the filter material channel is narrower, and the requirements for glue line distribution, pleat uniformity and outer frame smoothness are higher. For specific product types, please refer to Description of ULPA Ultra High Efficiency Filter .
A direct feature of the partition-less structure is that the thickness can be made smaller. The solution with partitions requires partitions to take up space, while the solution without partitions releases this space and may accommodate more pleats under the same outer frame size, or compress the overall thickness. This feature is more practical for locations such as inside equipment, FFU units, and EFU air supply units where the installation height is limited. Supporting the FFU fan filter unit is used, the thickness of the filter element will affect the overall height and maintenance space of the unit; equipment-side applications such as When The internal structure of the EFU equipment-end fan filter unit is inherently compact. The thickness of the filter element and the disassembly and assembly path often affect the feasibility of the solution more than the grade.
But no partition does not mean no support. The pleat spacing needs to be maintained, otherwise the channel will easily collapse when the airflow passes through, the resistance will rise abnormally, and the local wind speed distribution will also become worse. The continuity of the glue line or spacer support is directly related to the stability of the filter element during operation. If the glue line is intermittent, the position is offset, or the bonding is not strong, the filter material may be deformed under the action of air flow, the local passing wind speed will increase, and the dust accumulation speed will be accelerated. This problem may not be fully exposed during factory inspection, and may appear after running for a period of time. When selecting, you should confirm the glue line technology and support method with the supplier, and don't just look at the outer dimensions.
The resistance characteristics of the structure without partitions are not determined by the name 'without partitions'. The same ULPA without partitions has different pleat pitch, pleat height, effective filtration area, and filter material type, and the resistance curve may be very different. When comparing, the complete finished product data must be obtained under the same air volume and the same external dimensions. The entire curve cannot be extrapolated from a single point resistance value. involving The comparison methods for HEPA/ULPA air filter products of different grades are the same, and the criteria are implemented according to the corresponding standards.
There are also several points to note when installing and leak detecting ULPA without partitions. The filter material is densely pleated, and the edge and glue line positions are the focus of leak detection scanning; if the outer frame is not rigid enough, it may deform during installation and compression, affecting the sealing surface fit; if the disassembly and assembly path is limited during replacement, whether the filter element can be completely removed must be confirmed in the planning stage. For the liquid tank sealing structure, the matching accuracy between the blade edge and the tank body is required to be high; for gasket sealing, it is necessary to confirm whether the pressing parts are evenly distributed. For specific verification methods, please refer to the relevant sealing instructions.
The scenarios in which partition-less structures are suitable depend on the actual constraints of the project. In locations where space is limited, thickness is sensitive, and a compact layout is required, solutions without partitions can be prioritized. In locations where the depth of the filter section is large, requirements for structural stiffness are high, and maintenance space is abundant, solutions with partitions may also be more suitable. When selecting, listing the installation space, target air volume, resistance requirements and leak detection conditions together is more meaningful than simply comparing structural names. The partition-less structure of HEPA high-efficiency filter also has similar characteristics, please refer to HEPA high-efficiency filters . Corresponding information for

Whether the partition-less ULPA is good or not depends on the processes of filter material folding, glue line control and assembly accuracy. These links are all completed within the filter manufacturing system, so that the structural consistency and interface matching can be controlled.
Aili Industry has independent manufacturing capabilities in filters, fans, control systems and sheet metal processing, and can provide ULPA ultra high efficiency filter、HEPA high-efficiency filter and supporting air supply equipment. For projects with limited space or ultra-thin requirements, the internal structure of the equipment, target air volume, and installation path can be combined to assist in checking the thickness, pleat pitch, and sealing configuration of the partition-less filter element. When the filter is matched with equipment such as FFU and EFU, the filter element resistance and fan operating point can also be evaluated together during the planning stage to reduce rework caused by thickness or interface mismatch after installation.
When enquiring, provide the installation space, target air volume, filtration level and leak detection requirements to help confirm the appropriate structural solution. Specific specifications are subject to the technical documents and testing data confirmed by the project.
