FFU may be shut down and stored during the project due to production adjustments, modifications, backup or seasonal shutdowns. The storage time may be days, weeks or even months. When reactivating after storage, it cannot be powered on directly and needs to be checked first.
The storage environment will affect the status of FFU. Moisture, dust, temperature changes and pests can affect filters, seals, electrical components and fans. If the packaging is damaged, the device may be exposed to moisture or contamination. The longer the storage period, the more necessary inspection is.
Therefore, a check should be made before re-enabling to confirm that the FFU status is suitable for operation. Aili Industrial has complete production capabilities in FFU complete machines and maintenance, and can provide shutdown inspection and recovery suggestions. For the basic structure of the FFU machine, you can refer toAili Industrial FFU fan filter unit。
The inspection begins with appearance. Confirm whether the packaging is intact and whether there is any damage, moisture, extrusion or traces of insects or rats. If the packaging is damaged, it should be opened and the internal equipment inspected. Check whether the FFU box is deformed, bumped, rusted or damaged on the coating. Check whether the filter is damp, contaminated, damaged or has sealing surface damage. Check whether the electrical components are damp, loose or have damaged wiring.
If an abnormality is found, it should be recorded and dealt with, and do not run directly with power on.
Moisture is a common problem after storage. Check whether there is water stains or condensation inside the box. Check the filter surface for signs of moisture, such as discoloration, water stains or mildew. Check electrical components and junction boxes for water or corrosion. Check whether the sealing strip is aged or deformed.
If there is dust or contaminants in the environment, check whether there is dust accumulation on the filter surface and inside the FFU. If the filter is heavily contaminated, it should be evaluated whether it needs to be replaced.
Fans and motors may develop problems due to bearing lubrication, dust, or moisture after long-term storage. Check whether the fan impeller rotates smoothly and whether there is any jamming or abnormal noise. Check the appearance of the motor for corrosion, moisture or loose wiring. Turn the fan manually to confirm there is no abnormal resistance.
If the status of the fan or motor is abnormal, it should be dealt with before powering on and running.
Electrical components include controllers, junction boxes, cables and sensors. Check whether the wiring is firm, whether the insulation is intact, and whether the connectors are loose. Check whether the appearance of the controller is damp, deformed or damaged. Check whether the ground wire is connected reliably.
If the electrical components are damp, they should be dried first and the insulation should be confirmed to be normal before powering on.
Filters are the focus of inspection. Confirm whether the filter is installed in place and the sealing surface is clean. Check whether the sealing strip is aged, deformed or peeled off. Confirm whether the pressing mechanism is normal.
If the filter becomes damp or contaminated, it should be evaluated whether it needs to be replaced. After replacement, seals should be checked and leak tested. For inspection of filters and installation seals, refer toIf the FFU filter element passes the leak test, why should the installation seal be checked (Note: This link is an example of the filter product page, please refer to the corresponding page on the site for specific seal inspection content).
After passing the inspection, it is recommended to resume operation in stages. First run at low speed for a short time and observe the status of the fan, motor and controller. After confirming that it is normal, gradually increase the speed. Then measure the wind speed and check the seal. Finally, run in normal operating mode and record the operating status.
Staged recovery avoids device damage due to hidden problems. If any abnormality is found, stop the machine immediately for inspection.
During the shutdown, storage and re-activation stage of FFU, it is recommended to confirm the following with the manufacturer: storage environment requirements; packaging and protective measures; storage time limits; inspection items before re-activation; moisture or contamination treatment methods; filter and seal inspection methods; electrical component inspection requirements; phased recovery steps; whether the manufacturer is required to be on-site to support.
If you are dealing with the re-enabling of FFU after shutdown, you can visitAili Industrial FFU fan filter unit to learn about the complete machine configuration, you can also refer toFFU is equipped with ULPA ultra-high-efficiency filter to understand the filter inspection requirements, or contact Aili Industrial for recovery operation support.
After the FFU is shut down for storage and reactivated, the appearance, moisture, contamination, fan, electrical, filter and sealing status should be checked. After passing the inspection, operation will be resumed in stages, starting at a low speed and then gradually increasing the speed. Storage time and environmental conditions are the basis for judging the focus of inspection. If an exception is found, it should be handled before running.
