The special-shaped EFU does not simply cut an outer contour according to the equipment gap. Equipment avoidance can compress the fan inlet, static pressure zone, or filter area, thereby affecting air volume, uniformity, and noise. Unoccupied areas should be identified first, and then fans, filters and interfaces should be arranged around key air supply surfaces.
Incorporate robotic arms, beams, wire trunking, sensors, door opening trajectories, and maintenance tool spaces into 3D or 2D overlays. In addition to static dimensions, consider moving parts, assembly tolerances and cable bend radii.
The avoidance structure should not form a sudden contraction in front of the fan inlet or filter. If necessary, the fan position and air inlet direction can be adjusted or multiple small power units can be used to achieve a relatively uniform pressure distribution before the air enters the filter.
Special-shaped folds, long-side openings and local notches may reduce the rigidity of the cabinet. Vibration should be controlled through structural reinforcements while avoiding reinforcements blocking airflow. The pressing surface of the filter should be continuous and flat, and the seams and access doors should avoid bypass air leakage.
Confirm whether the EFU is installed before the equipment skeleton is completed, or whether it is installed from the outside. The installation hole positions, hanging points, buckles and connectors must be consistent with the assembly direction to avoid the need to dismantle other modules on site for installation.
The special-shaped plan should test the total air volume, key point wind speed, uniformity, noise, vibration, power and sealing. If the customer's equipment structure will significantly block the wind, the test tooling should try to simulate the real boundary.
The efficiency of the filter material itself does not change due to the shape, but the sealing, effective area and wind speed distribution may affect the overall effect.
Not recommended. Fan position affects inlet conditions and pressure distribution before the filter and should be confirmed through design and testing.
It is recommended to complete the confirmation drawing and prototype verification first, and then solidify the drawings, components and test standards.
Aili Industry carries out R&D and production around EFU complete machines, fans and motors, control systems, sheet metal structures and air filters. For equipment-side projects, configuration can be carried out based on equipment drawings, target air volume, static pressure, filtration efficiency, installation interface and control logic. When it comes to ultra-thin, small size or special interfaces, it is recommended to confirm the drawings and agreed working conditions first, and then test the curing parameters through the prototype so that the configuration can be consistent in subsequent mass production.
During project consultation, the available internal length, width and height of the equipment, target cleanliness, air supply area, air volume or wind speed requirements, filtration efficiency, power supply and communication methods can be provided to facilitate quick judgment of whether standard products are suitable or whether non-standard design is required.

Conclusion: Special-shaped EFU is suitable for equipment areas where standard rectangular units cannot be installed, but any avoidance will change the effective space and airflow path. Structural strength, local resistance, sealing and maintenance accessibility need to be controlled simultaneously during design.
