The fan does not start after the FFU is powered on, and it is easy to suspect that the fan is damaged at the scene. But the actual reasons may come from many sources. Incorrect power supply voltage, wrong control mode setting, protection function action, loose wiring or controller failure may cause the fan to not start.
If you repeatedly turn on the power or replace the fan without confirming the cause, it may cover up the real problem or even cause secondary damage. Therefore, the investigation should be carried out in order, from power supply, control, protection, wiring to fan, and confirmed one by one.
Aili Industrial has complete self-research capabilities in the FFU control system and can cooperate with the project for startup troubleshooting. For the basic configuration of FFU control and communication, please refer toAili Industrial FFU fan filter unit。
Power supply is the basis for startup. The confirmation includes: whether the power supply voltage is consistent with the FFU rated voltage; whether the power supply frequency is correct; whether the power switch is closed; whether the fuse or circuit breaker is normal; whether the wiring terminals are firm.
If the supply voltage is too low or too high, the controller may not start or enter protection. If the power supply is normal but the controller has no display, you can check the power cord, terminal blocks and controller power supply.
The FFU controller may have local mode, remote mode and shutdown mode. If the controller is in stop mode or does not receive a start command in remote mode, the fan will not start.
The inspection content includes: the current mode of the controller; whether there is a start command; whether the group control system issues a running command; whether the controller's set speed is zero.
If the group control display is online but the fan does not rotate, you can confirm whether the control settings are consistent with the actual status. For relevant judgments, please refer toFFU group control shows offline but the fan is still running。
FFU controllers usually have overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheating or stall protection. If the protection is activated, the controller may stop output and the fan may not start.
The inspection content includes: whether there is a fault indication in the controller; whether there is an alarm record; whether the protection can be reset; what is the reason for the protection action.
Protective actions may be temporary, such as voltage fluctuations or short-term overloads. It may also be persistent, such as the fan is blocked or the motor is abnormal. The cause should be confirmed before resetting.
Loose wiring, incorrect connectors, or incorrect wiring sequence may cause the fan not to start. The inspection includes: whether the motor wiring is firm; whether the connector between the controller and the motor is in place; whether the cable is damaged or disconnected; whether the wiring sequence is correct.
If the wiring is wrong, it may not start or damage the controller. Should be checked according to the wiring diagram.
If the power supply, control, protection and wiring are all normal, you can check the fan status. The contents include: whether the fan impeller is stuck; whether the bearing is damaged; whether there is any abnormal sound or smell in the motor; whether the manual rotation of the fan is smooth.
If the fan is stuck or the bearings are damaged, they need to be repaired or replaced. If the fan is normal but does not rotate, you can confirm whether the controller output is normal.
If the protection action is confirmed and the cause has been eliminated, you can reset it according to the controller instructions. Restart after reset and observe whether it is normal.
If the protection operates again, it means that the problem has not been solved and you should continue to investigate. Do not force start by repeatedly resetting.
The investigation process should be recorded. The content includes: fault phenomenon; power supply voltage; controller mode; fault indication; wiring status; fan status; handling measures and results.
If the problem cannot be solved on site, you can contact the FFU manufacturer. Aili Industrial has complete self-research capabilities in FFU control systems and can provide supporting support for controllers and fans.
During the FFU start-up troubleshooting stage, it is recommended to confirm the following with the FFU manufacturer: power supply requirements and wiring diagrams; controller mode descriptions; protection functions and reset methods; fault indication meanings; fan status inspection methods; replacement parts requirements; troubleshooting record format.

The fan does not start after the FFU is powered on. Check the power supply, control mode, protection action, wiring and fan status one by one. It cannot be directly judged that the fan is damaged, nor can it be powered on repeatedly without confirming the cause. The investigation process and results should be recorded, and the manufacturer should be contacted for processing if necessary.
